GEA Refrigeration Netherlands N.V. - international Sales Service

GEA Refrigeration Netherlands - international Sales is very proud of the quality and reliability of their installations. Despite this quality every installation will age through the years and normal maintenance, which can be carried out by local technicians, alone will not be enough anymore and the installation might need an update or extension.

When it comes to assisting you or your customers in analyzing complete refrigeration systems (Grasso or other brands), our supervisors are a valuable addition to your own technical staff.

A big part of their work consists of supervising projects that we build worldwide.

In many cases the supervision starts after the erection of the plant and continues until the commissioning. Also turn-key projects are guided by our supervisor. If customers have system related problems or want to know the present state of their installation, our supervisors can provide several services.

Assessment / inspection visits

During these visits, the supervisor makes a ‘technical sweeps” of the complete refrigeration installation.

Advice is given on system level (process conditions), unit level (coolers, condensers, etc.) and component level (preventive maintenance / corrective maintenance).

After the visit an extensive report is available. Normally these reports include general comments and advices to enhance the reliability and up-time of the installation. Also recommendations are given about maintenance and replacements of (broken or worn-out) components.

Energy efficiency visits

During these visits, the supervisor concentrates mainly on measuring important parameters in the system;

·         Ammonia quality.

·         Oil quality.

·         Water content.

·         Amount of air in the system.

·         Wear and tear of main components.

·         Condensing and evaporating temperatures and pressure.

·         Electric measurements (amps / voltages / synchronism).

·         Status of the starter panels and motor connections.

·         Settings of PLC / Scada Applications.

The actual planning and execution of the visit depends on the type of installation, the information that is available in the office and the wishes from the customer. After the visit an extensive report is available. Detailed advice is given on actions to be taken to enhance the COP of the installation and on lowering the energy consumption.

Normally these reports also include a priority overview. This overview is based on the order of changes to be made.

Health check visits

During these visits, the supervisor mainly concentrates on the safety of the installation;

·         Overall status of the installation regarding safety and reliability

·         Certification procedures of pressure components

·         Safety procedures

·         Emergency procedures

·         Emergency routes

This will be combined with the assessment / inspection and energy efficiency visit. This health check visit is especially developed for the older installations to check the risks of a major loss of coolant and the effects of it. After the visit recommendations for improvement of safety, reliability and energy consumption are given in an extensive report.

Plant specific maintenance schedules

In many cases refrigeration plant are not maintained well during the first couple of years of operation.

Maintenance is done based on corrective measurements. When something breaks down, the part or component is replaced. As demand is growing and the installation is getting older, the reliability goes down.

For installations, delivered by GEA Refrigeration Netherlands International Sales or (chiller) units delivered by GEA Grasso or GEA Grasso RT GmbH, detailed maintenance schedules can be made available.

These lists are based on preventive maintenance, meaning that replacement of parts is done before breakdown, to ensure reliability and up-time. Before requesting these schedules, please remember that producing these lists is very time consuming. Also, we are more than willing to assist and advice you in how to produce preventive maintenance schedules.
