Background
The town of Krupka, in the north of the Czech Republic, was selected as the location for the new European Tivall production facilities. Starting with an annual capacity of 5,000 tones of frozen vegetarian foods, the final capacity will be 30,000 tones.
The building has rooms with three different sanitation levels: normal, hygienic and high hygienic, with the temperature differences requiring powerful and complicated air-conditioning systems. The tunnel Freezers and cold stores
When looking for an experienced and reliable contractor, GEA Grasso Czech s.r.o. stood out of the crowd because of their experience and backup from the large GEA Company it is part of.
The opportunity to engineer, design and execute a project with high complexity was a welcome challenge to the engineers and project managers from Grasso.

Short description of the solution
Tival’s choice to go for environmental friendly natural refrigerants easily connects to our values as a responsible product seller and contractor. The Nestlé Company aims to exclusively use natural refrigerants in their production units.

The main part of the refrigeration installation is the Ammonia - CO2 cascade system, fully designed, engineered and commissioned by Grasso. The small Ammonia content of the installation is equipped with GEA Grasso 12 reciprocating compressors. The CO2 part is build up with Grasso 5HP compressors that excel in performance and reliability especially for CO2 applications.
Also the chilled water system is part of the supplied solutions.
